چکیده

The critical behavior of frustrated Josephson-junction arrays at f = 1/2 flux quantum per plaquette is considered. Results from Monte Carlo simulations and transfer matrix computations support the identification of the critical behavior of the square and triangular classical arrays and the onedimensional quantum ladder with the universality class of the XY -Ising model. In the quantum ladder, the transition can happen either as a simultaneous ordering of the Z2 and U(1) order parameters or in two separate stages, depending on the ratio between interchain and intrachain Josephson couplings. For the classical arrays, weak random plaquette disorder acts like a random field and positional disorder as random bonds on the Z2 variables. Increasing positional disorder decouples the Z2 and U(1) variables leading to the same critical behavior as for integer f .

Resistivity scaling and critical dynamics of fully frustrated Josephson-junction arrays with on-site dissipation

We study the scaling behavior and critical dynamics of the resistive transition in Josephson-junction arrays, at f =1/2 flux quantum per plaquette, by numerical simulation of an on-site dissipation model for the dynamics. The results are compared with recent simulations using the resistively shunted-junction model. For both models, we find that the resistivity scaling and critical dynamics of t...

Zero-Temperature Superconducting Transition in Frustrated Josephson-Junction Arrays

The critical behavior of zero-temperature superconducting transitions which can occur in disordered two-dimensional Josephson-junction arrays are investigated by Monte Carlo calculation of ground-state excitation energies and dynamical simulation of the current-voltage characteristics at nonzero temperatures. Two models of arrays in an applied magnetic eld are considered: random dilution of jun...

Superconductor-insulator transition in frustrated Josephson-junction arrays on a honeycomb lattice

The zero-temperature superconductor to insulator transition is studied in a selfcharging model of Josephson-junction arrays on a honeycomb lattice in an external magnetic field corresponding to f flux quantum per plaquette. Path integral Monte Carlo simulations of the equivalent (2+1)-dimensional classical model are used to study the phase transition and critical behavior. For f = 1/3, the tran...

Two dynamic exponents in the resistive transition of fully frustrated Josephson-junction arrays

– We study the resistive transition in Josephson-junction arrays at f = 1/2 flux quantum per plaquette by dynamical simulations of the resistively-shunted-junction model. The current-voltage scaling and critical dynamics of the phases are found to be well described by the same critical temperature and static exponents as for the chiral (vortex-lattice) transition. Although this behavior is cons...

Current-voltage scaling of a Josephson-junction array at irrational frustration.

Numerical simulations of the current-voltage characteristics of an ordered two-dimensional Josephson junction array at an irrational flux quantum per plaquette are presented. The results are consistent with an scaling analysis which assumes a zero temperature vortex glass transition. The thermal correlation length exponent characterizing this transition is found to be significantly different fr...
